Chinese state Sinopec and gas distributor ENN Energy have again extended the deadline for their acquisition of China Gas Holdings, this time to Jul. 6. The two firms had announced in March that they would delay completion of discussions to May 15 from Mar. 30, saying they needed to wait for approvals (IOD Mar.21'12). In filings to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Monday, both firms said required regulatory approvals were still pending, including clearance from China's Ministry of Commerce on whether the application flouted the country's antimonopoly law.
