Australia’s BHP Billiton has secured a rig to drill a high impact well in Australia’s Carnarvon Basin next year. One of its partners in permit WA-351-P, Tap Oil, said Monday that the joint venture has approved a budget to drill the Tallaganda-1 well in the first quarter of 2012 and has secured the Atwood Eagle semisubmersible rig. The block is southwest of WA-390-P, where Hess has found multiple discoveries.
