Ghana-focused explorer Kosmos Energy has reportedly rejected yet another joint bid for its stake in the giant Jubilee field offshore the coast of the West African country, opting instead to pursue a mooted initial public offering (IPO). Ato Ahwoi, chairman of Ghana National Petroleum Corp. (GNPC), told reporters in Accra that Kosmos formally turned down the joint bid GNPC, China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and BP made for its 23.5% stake in Jubilee. Jubilee produced first oil in December at a rate of 55,000 b/d and aims to hit a peak output of 120,000 b/d by mid-year.
