Gazprom Ups Serbia Stake

Russia's Gazprom Neft is preparing to increase its stake in Serbia's Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), in which it bought 51% in 2009. Gazprom Neft said Friday that it finalized a buyout offer to minority shareholders in January. It will buy 8.4 million of the 31.18 million shares with voting rights, taking its stake to 56.15%. A total of 14.5% is owned by Serbian citizens and NIS employees, with the rest held by the Serbian government.
