North Korean Leader Talks Gas

Russia and North Korea have agreed to study the possibility of building a gas pipeline running via North Korea to South Korea. The subject was discussed on Wednesday when Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with reclusive North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in Sos-novy Bor, near the eastern Siberian city of Ulan-Ude (IOD Aug.23'11). "As far as I understand, North Korea is interested in the implementation of such a trilateral project with Russia and South Korea," Medvedev was quoted as saying. A trilateral commission will be set up to look more closely at the project.
