The US House of Representatives plans to pass new sanctions on Iran that would target the Islamic Republic's crude oil exports by the end of the year, while the Senate is expected to follow shortly after, paving the way for President Obama to sign the bills into law early next year, lobbyists say. The bills take aim at the substantial role of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran's oil and gas supply chains, sanctioning activities involving the IRGC or any of its affiliates that are related to the development, extraction, production, transportation, or sale of oil and gas.
