New Fracking Rule in Colorado

Colorado regulators have approved a plan to require oil and gas companies to disclose the chemicals they deploy in hydraulic fracturing — also known as “fracking” — to stimulate oil and gas wells. The plan was approved unanimously by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission on Tuesday. It includes an exemption so that producers and oil-field service contractors will not be forced to disclose the exact chemical concentrations of their fracking formulas, which are considered trade secrets.
