Opec still has a major role to play in signaling the direction of global oil supply, despite last week's inconclusive meeting in Vienna -described by Saudi Oil Minister Ali Naimi as "his worst in 16 years" -according to Opec chief Abdullah al-Badri. "For the past five and half years, since I became secretary-general, all our meetings had gone very smoothly," he said in an interview in London on Wednesday. "So if we have a meeting where we do not agree, that does not mean there is no room or no role for Opec in the world economy or world oil supply."
