October Set as Deadline for Shah Deniz Tariff Showdown

The consortium developing the second phase of Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field has asked the three pipeline projects competing to deliver the gas to Europe to present transport options by Oct. 1, Alasdair Cook, BP vice president for Shah Deniz development, told an Ankara oil and gas conference Thursday. The offers need not include full terms, he told International Oil Daily on the conference sidelines, but must incorporate a range of tariffs so the Shah Deniz developers, led by BP and Statoil, can decide which is the most commercial.
