Egypt Eyes Gas Bid Round

State Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (Egas) will launch a bid round for 19 explo- ration blocks this year, of which 17 will be in the Mediterranean Sea, and two in the on- shore Nile Delta, Egas President Mahmoud Latif reportedly told a company meeting. Latif also revealed that 40 gas exploration wells are planned - in the Mediterranean, Nile Delta and northern Sinai - in 2011-12, and that the second half of 2010 yielded 12 gas discoveries.
