Senior executives from five leading oil companies told Congress Wednesday that an expansion of oil and gas drilling off the US coast could put the nation on a path to economic growth and stable oil supplies.Executives from Exxon, B P, Shell,Chevron and Devon confirmed their interest in exploring the previously closed waters of the Atlantic, the Pacific and the eastern Gulf of Mexico. They also called for access to more of Alaska's offshore resources.
