Tetrahedral-Shaped Anions as a Template in the Synthesis of High-Nuclearity Silver(I) Dithiophosphate Clusters

Novel Ag_(32) clusters, [Ag_(16)(EO_4){S_2P- (OEt)_2}_(12)]_2 (PF_6)_4 (E = S, 1; Se, 2) and [Ag_(16)(MO_4)- {S_2P(OEt)_2}_(12)]_2(PF_6)_4 (M = Cr, 3; Mo, 4), were prepared in situ from the addition of a tetrahedral-shaped anion as a template to the pentanuclear extended chain [Ag_5{S_2P- (OEt_)2}_4]_n(PF_6)_n.
