Japan's Asahi Kasei Corp H1 net profit grows 12%; sales fall 7%

TOKYO (ICIS)--Asahi Kasei’s first-half net profit increased 12% year on year to yen (Y) 52.9bn, in spite of a 7% decline in sales, the Japanese producer said on Tuesday. Net sales for the six months to 30 September 2016 fell to Y890.7bn, with operating profit down by 16% at Y70.8bn, the producer said in a statement.
