Intrepid sells record volume in 2014

US producer Intrepid sold a record 915,000 short tonnes (st) potash in 2014, a 13pc increase from 2013, while sales of Trio, its specialty langbeinite product, grew by 48pc to 182,000st. The company sold 210,000st of potash in the fourth quarter, a 26pc increase from the same time a year ago, refecting strong winter fll demand in the US. Trio sales volumes in the quarter reached 41,000st, a 52pc year-over-year jump, as the company saw more demand tha it is capable of producing.
