ACC: Ash hazardous label could cost billions

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) would effectively shut down a $6-11bn industry by determining fly ash from coal-fired combustion is hazardous, the coal ash reuse industry said. The American Coal Council's (ACC) 2010 economic assessment of coal combustion residuals (CCR) identified up to $11.4bn/yr in economic benefits from using the products as an alternative to disposal.
