Boron donor ligands isoelectronic with classical organome-tallic systems are highly topical, reflecting their implication in novel stoichiometric and catalytic reaction chemistry. Thus, for example, boryl complexes, [L_xM(BX_2)_y], have been implicated in metal-catalyzed hydro-/diboration and C—H functionalization chemistries, and aminoborane complexes, [L_xM(H2BNRR')_y], are relevant to the "on-metal" dehydrocoupling/polymerization of amineboranes.
