Iron-Catalyzed S-Arylation of Thiols with Aryl Iodides

Transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides with nitrogen,oxygen,and sulfur nucleophiles are powerful tools for the formation of C-N,C-O,and OS bonds,respectively.Although several palladium,nickel,and copper catalysts have proven to be highly effective in such coupling processes,the development of new and cheap alternative catalysts for the aforementioned transformations is still desirable.
