Outages at USS flat-rolled ops to persist in 4th quarter

U.S. Steel Corp.'s flat-rolled division will continue to suffer production setbacks in the fourth quarter because of planned and unplanned outages, according to company executives and documents released with earnings data.On the planned outage side, U.S. Steel has scheduled a four-week outage in November at one of the smaller blast furnaces at its Gary Works in Indiana, the company said in its latest quarterly earnings report.
