Export dock tags fall as container prices stumble

A big fall in West Coast ferrous scrap export prices for containerized scrap over the past two weeks has forced several exporters to lower their buying prices for material delivered to their yards. Market participants said that sales of an 80/20 mix of No. 1 and No. 2 heavy melt had dropped to between $350 and $355 per tonne c.f.r. Taiwan, indicating a decline of as much as $20 from $370 pertonne in the last week of March.
