AT_1 blockade during lactation as a model of chronic nephropathy: mechanisms of renal injury

The aim of the present study was to investigate 7) the time course, the long-term outcome, and the pathogenesis of the chronic kidney disease that develops in rats given AT-1R blockers during the final phase of nephrogenesis; and 2) the possibility that such treatment be employed to construct an experimental model of chronic kidney disease that could mimic more closely than current models the development and outcome of the corresponding human disease.
