Agchem use on GM crops down 9% during 1996-2012

There was an 8.8% reduction in agrochemical usage associated with genetically modified crops between 1996 and 2012, according to the latest analysis by UK consultancy P G Economics. It points to a 503,000 tonne drop in herbicide and insecticide use over the period. The trend continues the decline seen in previous years (Agrow passim).
