US specialty pesticide sales drop in 2009

Sales of pesticides for use on turf and ornamentals dropped by 10.7% to $701.6 million at the manufacturer level in 2009, according to US market research company Specialty Products Consultants (SPC - Mendham, New Jersey). Sales of all product categories declined, with significant reductions for turf growth regulators (-22%) and insecticides (-15%).
