Effectiveness of the Insecticide Phosmet (IMIDAN) over the Adult State of the 'Cabrito del Maiten' (Aegorhinus superciliosus (Guerin-Meneville) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)) on Hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.)

In the Region of The Araucania, in January, 2011, under field conditions of open sky, and in partially controlled laboratory conditions, a test was done with phosmet or fosmet in its formulation as IMIDAN 70 WP, in hazelnuts for the control of the adult condition of the "cabrito del maiten" (CM), Aegorhinus superciliosus (Guerin-Meneville) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae).For the CM in field conditions of open sky, the dose of 200 g of IMIDAN 70 WP for 100 L of water presented the best degree of efficiency, with a consolidated average of the test of 96.5% efficiency, on the CM in hazelnuts.In partially controlled laboratory conditions, the doses of 150 and 200 g for 100 L of water IMIDAN 70 WP presented the best consolidated average of the test, in hazelnuts for the control of the CM.The survival index for the adult condition of the CM in the treatment witness, without application of insecticide, went from 0.82 in field conditions of open sky, to 1 under partially controlled laboratory conditions
