In the foothills of the Ararat valley (Aragatsotn marz, vill. Karbi, at 1250 m a.s.l.) comparative studies of qualitative properties and maturation phases of the regionalized apricot tree cultivars 'Yerevani', 'Sateni', 'Khosroveni' and 'Ghevondi' (white apricot) as well as new experimental cutivars 'Arinji', 'Marmari', 'Shoger' and 'Arax' were carried out during 2007-2010. It has been determined that the fruits of 'Arinji' are the earliest ripening of all, and accumulate the least dry substances and sugars. The fruits of 'Marmari' have the highest content of sugar and dry substances. The fruits of 'Shoger' and 'Arax' ripen in August and September, respectively, and are of medium quality between 'Yerevani' and 'Sateni'.
