This paper presents the results of the two-year experimentation on tomato cultivated in a tunnel-greenhouse on loamy-clayey Italian soil amended both with zeolite and zeolite filled with ammonia. The chemical and physical analysis of the soil, roots, leaves and fruits were carried out during three cultivation cycles. On the roots, leaves and fruit qualitative data and the macro- and micro-contents as well as the heavy metal contents were examined with statistical analysis. Contemporaneously the zeolitic material used for amendment was characterized and in particular the cationic exchange complex and the presence of heavy metals were studied. The soil-zeolite mixtures subjected to subsequent cultivation cycles showed some interesting variations of the soil chemical-physical properties that are susceptible of the greens improvement and permitted the analysis of productive data.
