US coal output to slip in 2015-2016 after rising 1.2% in 2014: EIA

US coal production rose 1.2% in 2014 but isexpected to drop each of the next two years, according tothe US Energy Information Administration’s latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, issued Tuesday.Total coal production is expected to drop from 994.2 millionst in 2014 to 984 million st in 2015 and 977 millionst in 2016, annual decreases of 1% and 0.7%, respectively,according to the EIA.
