BHEL to Commission its First 250 MW CFBC Boiler

Mumbai, India: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) plans to commission its first-unit of 250 MW lignite-powered CFBC (Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion) Boiler at Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) complex in Tamil Nadu in January 2012. While the second unit will become operational in April-May, A V Krishnan, Executive Director at BHEL hopes that the lignite-fired boilers of 500 MW capacity be developed by 2017-20.
