Four isostructural metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with various functionalized pore surfaces were synthesized from a series of diisophthalate ligands. These MOFs exhibit a new network topology of {4.6~4.8} _2{4~2.6~4}{6~4.8~2} _2{6~6}. Hydrogen uptake as high as 2.67wt % at 77K/1bar and CO_2 uptake of 15.4wt % at 297K/1bar have been observed for PCN-308, which contains -CF_3 groups. The isostructural series of MOFs also showed reasonable adsorption selectivity of CO_2 over CH_4 and N_2. Gas station: Four isostructural metal-organic frameworks have been synthesized from functionalized ligands through a ligand-truncation strategy (see figure). The frameworks adopt a new topology. They are good adsorbent materials for both CO_2 capture and H_2 storage.
