Mitsui Chemicals, Itoh Oil Chemical and Jayant Agro-Organics set up bio-polyol jv

Japanese firms -Mitsui Chemicals Inc and Itoh Oil Chemical Co. Ltd. -have announced the signing of a joint venture agreement with Jayant Agro-Organics Ltd. for the establishment of a company in India to produce bio-polyol, the main raw materials of which are non-edible plant derived fatty acid. The jv company -Vithal Castor Polyols Pvt. Ltd. -to be based in Gujarat will manufacture around 8,000 tonnes/year of bio-polyol and is expected to start commercial operations in January 2015.
