GCC embarking on massive expansion of fertiliser manufacturing capacity

A massive expansion is ongoing in several states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. (GCC), with new ammonia and urea production capacities scheduled to come on stream by 2016. Much of this expansion is targeted at the growing Indian and Asian markets for fertilisers, where domestic supply falls short of demand, with the gap met by imports.
