Maharashtra Govt not to allow Bhopal toxic waste disposal in Nagpur

The Maharashtra government has said it will not allow disposal of 350-tonnes of toxic waste from Union Carbide's Bhopal plant to take place in the state. The Maharashtra Minister for Environment, Mr. Sanjay Devtale, while participating in a discussion in the Legislative Assembly, said Defence Research and Development Organisa- tion's (DRDO) Nagpur lab will not be given approval to incinerate the waste.
