TAG restarts production of ammonium chloride & soda ash

Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd. (TAC) has restarted trial production at its revamped ammonium chloride fertilizer and soda ash plants at Tuticorin. The plants have remained shut since 4 March 2007, due to nonavailability of carbon dioxide from the SPIC plant. In a communication to the BSE, the company stated trial manufacture of ammonium chloride began on 28 October and of soda ash on 19 October.
