American Chemistry Council announces 'Responsible Care' awards

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) recently honoured 12 of its member companies for implementing energy-efficiency improvements in 2009. ACC presented a total of 51 awards to these companies, 16 of which were deemed programmes of 'exceptional merit'. The 'Responsible Care Energy Efficiency' awards programme is among ACC's many ongoing initiatives to improve energy efficiency. In. 2009, the total annual energy savings achieved by the winning projects was 11.1 trillion BTUs, with the added benefit of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
