Japan Polypropylene to close two PP plants by next year

Japan Polypropylene Corporation will close two relatively old polypropylene (PP) plants in 2011 to reduce costs, the company announced. The company will shut a 90,000-tpa plant at Kashima, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan in May 2011. The plant has been in operation since 1970. Then, in June 2011, it will shut down a 79,000-tpa plant in Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture, which had been operated since 1967.
