Dow Corning reports strong sales and earnings in second Quarter of 2010

US-based silicones major, Dow Corning, has reported consolidated net income of $220.7m for Q2 2010, an increase of 91% from consolidated net income of $ 115.4m reported for Q2 2009. For the first half of 2010, consolidated net income rose by a whopping 252% to $439.0m ($ 124.8m). The company reported record sales of $ 1.54b in Q2 2010, 30% higher than sales of $1.19b in the same quarter of 2009. Meanwhile, sales in the first half of 2010 were $2.90b, 31% higher than sales of $2.22b reported in the first half of 2009.
