摘要

The signing of gas supply and trans--portation agreement with Reliance Industries Ltd for supply of KG basin gas will help Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd (RCF) to soon restart production from its 3.3 lakh tonne a year urea plant at Trombay, near Mumbai. The increased gas availability will also help it to cut down naphtha consumption at its Thai plant in Raigarh. Under the agreement, RIL will supply 2.1 million standard cubic metres per day (mscmd) of gas to RCF's Thai unit and 0.95-mscmd to the Trombay unit. The company had closed operation of its urea unit as it had become unviable due to rising cost of naphtha.
