Prices remain depressed due to lack of buying interest;Glycerine slumps sharply

The Delhi chemicals market remained depressed in the past week amidst lack of buying interest.With manufacturers forced to reduce sale price of Glycerine on the back of mounting stocksritS"prices on the spot market plummeted by Rs.20,touching alow of Rs.55 per kg.Caustic soda flake was also traded weak by Rs.15 at Rs.1,410 per 50-kg bag.Camphor fell by Rs.5 to Rs.250/280 per kg with the tapering Diwali festival demand.Hit by weak demand,liquid Paraffin wax and Sodium benzoate also moved downward with prices easing by Rs.4/5 per kg to Rs.85 and Rs.95/120 respectively.Chromic acid slipped from Rs.315 to Rs.290 at the end of the week.
