IOC plans styrene butadiene rubber unit in Panipat

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is planning to set up a Rs. 761-crore styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) project at Panipat with two other joint venture partners. Since SBR manufacturing technology is closely held - IOC had tried unsuccessfully to get a third party license for years - the public sector refiner is keeping the names of the JV partners under wraps. IOC will take a 48% stake while the other two partners will have 32% and 20% stake each.
