India Glycols Ltd(IGL),one of the largest chemical units in Uttarakhand involved in the production of various bulk and speciality chemicals from molasses,such as monoethyl glycols,diethyl glycols,triethyl glycols and other value-added chemicals,has complained to Petroleum Minister that unprecedented demand on the sugar industry to feed the ethanol-blended petrol(EBP)programme of the government has left many chemical units like itself starved of the industrial alcohol required as feedstock for their operations.
