Japan's Marubeni Corp.is in the midst of drawing up plans to launch a styrene butadiene rubber(SBR)business in India with its SBR joint-venture partner in China,Taiwan Synthetic Rubber,the largest synthetic-rubber producer in Taiwan.According to a report in Japan Chemical Week,a trade journal published from Tokyo,demand for SBR is growing in India for use in tyres and other automotive products,in line with India's burgeoning automobile industry.The country will become a new focus for Marubeni's business development in South Asia,which it has positioned as the next growth area after China.
