Catalysis has been one of the key technologies during the last century to meet the diverse societal needs namely,food,health,energy and materials.Some of the most significant developments in catalysis include:ammonia synthesis for food needs;bulk&fine chemicals;healthcare&agriculture;Fischer-Tropsch synthesis for organic raw materials;Hydrocarbon processing for energy and transport;Ziegler Natta catalysts for polymerisation of olefins for new materials;and more recently catalysts for environment pollution control&abatement.
