摘要

The standardized SEPB method and an accurate IF technique recently developed by the authors were employed in order to clarify the correlation of K-IC and K-IFR for ceramics with various microstructures. Both KIFR calculated using Miyoshi's equation and Niihara's equation were roughly proportional to K-IC but the correlation was incomplete. K-IFR calculated using Miyoshi's equation has a tendency to exhibit slightly smaller values than their K-IC. In contrast, the relation between K-IFR and K-IC was reversed when Niihara's equation was used for the calculation of K-IFR. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l. All rights reserved.
