A new method of measuring the steady-state value of insulation resistance is proposed, which enables the duration of measurements to be reduced considerably. The specific feature of the method is that, in addition to the insulation resistance, its first and second derivatives with respect to time are measured. As a steady-state value of the insulation resistance, the doubled value is taken of such a resistance, whose first derivative has a maximum and the second one equals zero.
