A new approach to considering electromagnetic processes in a anisotropic superconducting plate placed in a uniform magnetic field is proposed Critical currents generated in the plate are assumed to have constant density and are distributed in it so that their cross section is a figure formed by the intersection of two ellipses. Such a distribution of the critical currents induces in the central zone of the plate a uniform magnetic field which makes it possible to compensate for the external uniform magnetic field and causes diamagnetism. Using the above assumption, which substantially simplifies the problem, analytical expressions for calculating the electromagnetic processes in a superconducting plate and the hysteresis losses in it during cyclic re-magnetization are obtained.
