The induction device for drying paint and varnish coatings in a transverse magnetic field

An induction device for drying paint and varnish coatings (applied on flat metal articles of various width) in a transverse magnetic field is presented and investigated. Mathematical models for calculating the parameters of the electromagnetic field and the temperature of the article subjected to heat treatment are presented. Results of preliminary numerical calculations for determining the optimum design relations and the power supply frequency for the device are given. A physical model of the device is developed, and the process of heating articles made from aluminum and ferromagnetic steel is investigated experimentally.
