摘要

Problems associated with fault location on long over head power lines from the single-ended measurements of the operating parameters under fault conditions are discussed. The errors in measuring the distance to the fault location due to neglecting the capacitive susceptance of the line wires are given. An analysis of the errors enabled a practical algorithm for measuring the distance to fault location with a minimum possible error to be developed.
