摘要

Combination of physical phenomena defining main reasons of the flow chip coiling and breaking is considered and analyzed connection between chip couting and heat flow intensity redistribution as well as deformation and friction entropy production in cutting zone is established. The stable chip coiling criterion is a ratio between deformation entropy production in cutting system as a whole and the flow chip breaking (or not breaking) criterion is a ratio between long material strength under cutting conditions and the separate chip element formation (shearing) time.
