Separate and combined effect of deviations of actual values from the rated values of geometric parameters (diameters, perimeters, height and conicity of upper girth of the bottom, ovality of the shells and others) of vessel components on thedisplacement of welded edges and the product quality is considered. It was determined, that the difference in the diameters of shells and bottoms as well as their ovality has the of largest influence. There is a negligible influence when the angle ofinclination of cut plane of bottom edges and the height of its cone-shaped part are changed. The conicity of bottom (in stabilizing the admissible values of other geometric parameters) can be increased without deteriorating the quality of assembly forwelding. Here, the conditions of bottom shaping are improved, the probability of corrugation and crack formation is decreased, and the quality of the welded vessels as a whole is increased.
