The effect of conditions of microplasma spraying of coatings on size and shape of the spraying spot is considered. The mechanism of formation of the elliptical spraying spot is analyzed. It has been established that the basic factors that have aneffect on size and shape of the spraying spot are size of particles, spraying distance, amperage and powder consumption. Investigations of narrow-strip coatings from powders of Mo, nickel self-fluxing alloy (PG-10N-0l) and stainless steel 254SMO have been conducted. It has been found that in spraying the Mo powder the use of particles 10... 45μm in size allows the deposition efficiency to be increased 3 times, as compared with particles 45... 90μm in size. For PG-10N-0l the possibility of spraying withsimultaneous glazing has been proved, this ensuring the dense and cast structure of the coatings.
