摘要

Novel reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) with segmented electrodes is proposed and demonstrated to simultaneously enhance the modulation canceling effect and extend the bandwidth for colorless self-seeded WDM transmitter applications. Optimal bias condition to each section is derived by a numerical model based on modified rate equations. The numerical predictions are confirmed by self-seeded experiments at a bitrate up to 10 Gb/s.
